This function is one of three ways to compare means.  This method uses the standard 4 step procedure.
Alpha is 100% - the confidence level (i.e. a CL of 90% is an alpha of .10).
x bar 1 and x bar 2 are the sample means.
sigma 1 and sigma 2 are the standard deviations (s for Case 2)
n 1 and n 2 are the number of trials.
